A back-to-basics yet comfortable camping experience, with an emphasis on enjoyment of the stunning Cornwall countryside.
Stars & Moor offers a classic back-to-basics, off grid but comfortable camping experience, where a love of nature and open moorland is essential.
Stars & Moor has just four camp pitches across two acres of pasture fields, surrounded by Cornish walling and with uninterrupted views stretching to the distant south coast. All pitches are stone-free, grassy terrain, allowing campers to select their preferred spot upon arrival. Vehicles are parked in the designated parking area, from which camping gear and holiday essentials can be transported to your pitch using a wheelbarrow. Thus ensuring you leave the pace of everyday life parked up!
Facilities in the converted horse trailer are far more comfortable and reassuring than their simplicity gives them the right to be. The showers are consistently hot and the toilets are fully plumbed. Ample hot water is always available at the basin and Belfast sink, facilitating your alfresco-style washing up.
On-site entertainment is all about the view, something you can never get bored with. Open-air cooking beside your tent is made possible with our fire pits available for hire, complete with a plentiful supply of firewood. The night sky's are a marvel to behold, offering the perfect backdrop for spending an evening with family and friends.
Bring your bikes, walking boots, and canoes, if you have them. There are plenty of opportunities for exploring either directly from the site or in the surrounding areas.
The area benefits from several public footpaths and cycle-ways. We are located on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (National Landscape) with Bodmin Moor accessible directly from the front gate. Additionally, we are situated within the World Heritage site of the Caradon Mining District. Steeped in local history, our home address boasts origins dating back to the 1500s.
Campers can easily access local amenities with a short stroll to the village of Minions. In the village, you'll find a surprisingly well-stocked shop, a post office, and the highest tea room in Cornwall. Heading in the opposite direction are two fantastic pubs within a 15-minute walk.
