Cwt Gwyrdd

At the foothills of the Preseli Mountains, just ten minutes drive from the Pembrokeshire coast, you'll find Cwt Gwyrdd. A shepherd's hut, matching bathroom cabin, a camp kitchen, a barn-style pod and a bell tent all overlooking the river Bannon. Inside the cosy shepherd's hut is a king size bed with Welsh blankets, a small kitchen and a wood burning stove. The pod has a sturdy pine double bed and duck down duvet, electric lighting and heating, as well as power sockets. Outside is your decked and covered porch - a lit and sheltered space for muddy boots and coats. The 5-metre bell tent accommodation sleeps 2, in single pine beds. There is a shared bedside table, bath towels and a bright LED lantern.

For cooking, you get the best of both worlds: crisp up a jacket potato under the grill in the hut, then warm up a pot of chilli over the campfire - bangers and burgers can be done on either - the choice is yours! The shepherd's hut contains a small hob and oven. Your bathroom with a hot shower and compost loo is in the cabin, linked to the hut by wooden decking.

Outside you can meet the friendly ponies in the paddock over the fence and enjoy the company of a couple of adorable cats. Head down to the river to spot otters, herons and water voles. There's a picnic basket for you to carry to a green spot of your choice and more than enough freshly laid eggs to choose from when it comes to filling it up.

Cwt Gwyrdd is in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park with the coast only a few miles away, so hiking, horse riding, bird watching, mountain biking, and boat trips are all within easy reach.
